Day 12: Karongwe, the end! – 5.10.2011

The last morning at the Karongwe Private Game Reserve, the last game drive with Gilbert and Obvious. Lots of tracking for the both of them: twice a leopard spoor and once a cheetah spoor, but alas, they were hiding. At least we saw giraffe lying down (rare), and at 50 m from our coffee stop spot, mama and baby rhino were sleeping, wow! What a beautiful couple!

And the last thing you’ll see, it’s a flying mongoose! 🙂

Thank you Kruger & Karongwe for the most beautiful and memorable trip!!!

Day 11: Karongwe’s elephants – 4.10.2011

This afternoon game drive, we very suddenly ran into elephants, making our tracker Obvious having to be very brave, sitting as still as possible, close to an upset female. All in all, everything was fine, and elephants even came up from behind us, which was very exciting – the boys loved it!

Day 11: Karongwe Zebra Beauty – 1.10.2011

A new month, but still day 11 of my amazing wildlife trip. This time, a very enjoyable zebra sighting. It just shows how seeing an animal for the 50th time, can still be unique and beautiful. Check out the poses these beauties gave us!
